Notice of Public Hearing - Proposed Bylaw 17.22

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PROPOSED BYLAW 17.22 TO AMEND MUNICIPAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN BYLAW 17.20  

PURPOSE: To consider a bylaw to make amendments to the Municipal Development Plan Bylaw 17.20. In accordance with Municipal Government Act M-26, Section 191(1) an amendment or repeal must be made in the same way as the original bylaw.

Municipal Development Plan 17.20 was passed in December 2020. Like the Land Use Bylaw, the Municipal Development Plan is a statutory document. The MDP provides citizens and businesses with information on how the municipality will address the current and future needs of the community, including land use, transportation systems, municipal services, and environmental considerations. The Municipal Development Plan is an ongoing document that may be amended time to time as the Town’s vision changes.

A copy of the Proposed Bylaw 17.22 Amending Municipal Development Plan Bylaw 17.20 and explanation about the Bylaw is available for inspection at the Town of Drumheller office located at 224 Centre Street, Drumheller, Alberta T0J 0Y4 or online at: https://www.drumheller.ca/your-municipality/bylaws  

On Thursday November 17th, 2022, at the Badlands Community Facility from 6:00pm – 8:00pm there is a Community Engagement Session. Development Authority will be in attendance to answer questions about the Municipal Development Plan Bylaw.

Any person affected by this Proposed Bylaw or otherwise wishing to address Town of Drumheller Council about this Bylaw can make arrangements to participate in the Public Hearing by emailing cao@drumheller.ca or calling 403-823-1339. The meeting will begin at 5:30 pm on Monday December 5th, 2022, at Town Hall 224 Centre Street in Council Chambers and/or using a virtual platform. The Public Hearing is to provide the public at large an opportunity to be heard in accordance with the Municipal Government Act.
