GRAVEL ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM
The Director of Infrastructure presented a plan for the upgrading of unpaved roads within the Town of Drumheller. The proposed program would establish a systematic, fair and transparent process for identifying and prioritizing gravel roads that require upgrading. The Committee of the Whole provided feedback on the proposal and directed Administration to draft a Gravel Road Improvement Policy and present it at a future Committee of the Whole meeting. Some of the feedback was the resurfacing of alleyways will be kept as local improvement projects; a Priority Index be used to evaluate unpaved roads and that only high priority local roads be budgeted and that program be completed over five (5) to ten (10) years.
