Chainsaw Wizards - Tree Carving Event - May 17 to 20

Alberta's biggest tree carving festival will be back during the May long weekend to welcome the spring!
Not just an event, Chainsaw Wizards is a project that was born to honour the trees that were cut down for the berms by giving them a new life in the Valley.
Save the date on your calendar to come witness the talent of the wizards as they weave their carving magic in front of your eyes by the minute.
This event is for all ages, food and live music will be a part of the experience! We look forward to seeing you there!

Whether you're a local looking for a weekend escape or a visitor seeking a unique experience, mark your calendar and plan your getaway to the enchanting Drumheller Valley!
There is no better time of year to visit! While we know the seasonal change can be tough to get used to, the weather in the Valley is as good as it gets!

Our much-anticipated event is set to unfold during the May long weekend, from May 17 to 20!

  • Friday, May 17, 2024 - 9:00am -10:00am - Orientation and site set up
  • Friday, May 17, 2024 - 10:00am - 4:00pm - Rails to Trails Carvings – Trail entrances
  • Saturday, May 18, 2024 - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm - Carving at the Downtown Plaza including 1 hr. quick carves at 1pm. Auction to follow quick carves
  • Saturday, May 18, 2024 -7:00pm - 10:00pm - Live Concert: Brayden King 
  • Sunday, May 19, 2024 - 8:00 am - 5:00 pm - Carving at the Downtown Plaza including 1 hr. quick carves at 1pm. Auction to follow quick carves
  • Monday, May 20, 2024 - 8:00 am - 1:00 pm - Carving at the Downtown Plaza
