Council Approves 2021 Fee Schedule with no Change in Fees from 2020

Posted on Dec. 21 2020

Town Council approved the 2021 fee schedule at the December 21, 2020 Council meeting. The schedule will see no change in fees from 2020 rates.

Council and administration have recognized the challenges our community has endured in 2020," states Mayor Colberg. "We are so excited to welcome everyone back to our facilities when they reopen, and we hope residents see this as an incentive to use them. That is the reason we maintained fees at the 2020 level."

"With the effects of COVID-19 still in the community and province, Council and Administration did not want to burden users of our services with a cost increase, especially after the financially challenging year we just experienced," explained CAO Darryl Drohomerski.

In addition to the rate freeze, Administration will be performing a service fee analysis on the Town's recreation facilities. "We want to ensure that we are remaining competitive with other jurisdictions, but most importantly that we are cost-responsible to our tax payers and our users of our services," shares Elin Gwinner, Finance Manager for the Town of Drumheller. "Throughout the next year we will be analyzing the fees at the BCF, Aquaplex, Arena and Ball Diamonds. Until that is completed we are satisfied with maintaining the 2020 rates for 2021 for recreation and other service areas."

The new fees will come into effect on January 1st 2021
