With summer nights approaching, many of us enjoy using our fire pits. Here are some guidelines on using your fire pit safely so that everyone gets to enjoy!  

• All fires must be a minimum of ten feet clearance from buildings, property lines and combustible materials. 
• Its sides shall not exceed 46cms or have a surface area of 3800 sq cm. 
• Only clean fuel or charcoal must be burned. 
• Refuse or waste materials shall not be burned. 
• All fires must have a spark arrestor or mesh screen over the flame. 
• All fires must be supervised 
• No fire shall produce smoke that creates a nuisance or hazard to neighbours and other properties.
