OPENING REMARKS

Councillor Crystal Sereda

Informed of and invited interested parties to the basketball tournaments at Drumheller Valley Secondary School (DVSS)  

  • Junior B Boy’s and Girl’s basketball on January 11 and 12, 2025.
  • Junior A Boy’s basketball tournament on January 18 and 19, 2025.

Mayor Colberg

Acknowledged the efforts of the Public Works department staff's efforts during a recent airport situation. Alberta Health Services (AHS) was attempting to fly in and required the runway to be cleared over the Christmas holiday. The Public Works team responded by coming in during off-hours to ensure the runway was clear. Additionally, appreciation was extended to Patrick and Catherine Bonneville for their assistance in facilitating the arrival of AHS. 

REMUNERATION AND EXPENSE ALLOWANCE FOR MAYOR AND COUNCIL

The proposed policy LS-C-03 – Remuneration and Expense Allowance for Mayor and Council was presented to Council. The policy is based on findings from the 2024 Council Remuneration Task Force final report, which will be presented at the February 3, 2025, Regular Council Meeting. 

ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS

The Director of Infrastructure, Jared Brounstein, presented a briefing note to Council recommending that the Town leave the development of EV Charging infrastructure to a third-party provider. 

CLOSED SESSION

The Committee held a closed session as per relevant FOIP legislation.
