At the August 28 Council Meeting, an update was provided to Mayor and Council regarding the construction taking place at the Aquaplex.

Phase 1 has been completed, with the investigation of issues and identification of repair being carried out. Currently, our teams have moved on to Phase 2: plans, sketches and technical information are being developed by a consulting firm to ensure that issues and safety concerns identified by the inspection and also by staff are being addressed. The work in Phase 2 is anticipated to be completed by the last week of September, after which Town staff will be able to move ahead with getting the pool up and running again.  

Scheduling for our facilities is outlined below! 

• The Outdoor Pool will stay open through September, as long as the weather permits.  
• The Rotary Fountain will stay open until September 14.  
• The Spray Park and outdoor washrooms at Rotary Park will stay open until September 17.  
• The Indoor Pool area, including the pool, hot tub, steam room and waterslide, is anticipated to re-open in mid-October.  

We understand that facility closures cause inconvenience, and we do apologize that our Indoor Pool had to be shut earlier than anticipated. Our teams are working quickly to have the identified issues resolved as soon as possible and we appreciate the patience and support of our patrons as the repairs are carried out.
