Councillor Zariski congratulated the Canadian Badlands Passion Play on their 30th anniversary and the success of their season and thanked the hundreds of volunteers who helped make the season a success.
Councillor Sereda congratulated the U15 AA Baseball Team, as they are hosting provincials this year, August long weekend, at the Newcastle Recreation Area Diamonds. Councillor Sereda encouraged residents to go down there and support our U15 AA Team.
DELEGATION – COLTON’S PLACE
Kristi Murphy and Robert Burrell presented the Colton’s Place Annual Report to Council. The presentation included an overview of the organization's history, funding background, programming initiatives, partnerships, and available sponsorship opportunities.
DELEGATION – TRAVEL DRUMHELLER
Julia Fielding, Executive Director of Travel Drumheller and Reg Johnston, Manager of Economic Development, presented to Council the 2025 Drumheller & Region Business Survey Results. The survey was conducted in collaboration with Community Futures Big Country, the Drumheller & District Chamber of Commerce, Travel Drumheller, MH Enterprises, and the Town of Drumheller Economic Development department.
The findings offer important insights into the current business environment and emerging trends within Drumheller and the surrounding region.
HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT POLICY #HR-C-08
Council adopted Human Resources Management Policy #HR-C-08, which outlines overarching guiding principles for the Town’s Human Resources Program.
OFFICE OF THE CAO – 2025 QUARTER 2 REPORT
Council accepted as information the 2025 Second Quarter Report presented by all departments within the CAO Office, including Legislative Services, Communications, Information Technology (IT), Economic Development, and Human Resources.
FLOOD MITIGATION PROGRAM UPDATE
Council accepted as information the Drumheller Flood Mitigation Program update presentation. The update included the status of berm projects, the Floodway Buyout Program, along with details regarding program funding and grant applications.
EMERGENCY & PROTECTIVE SERVICES – 2025 QUARTER 2 REPORT
Council accepted as information the 2025 Second Quarter Reportresented by all departments within Emergency and Protective Services, including Municipal Enforcement, Parking Program, Health and Safety, Fire Services, and Emergency Management.
CLOSED SESSION
Council held a closed session to receive legal advice per ATIA 29 – Advice from officials and ATIA 32 – Privileged information.
