Proposed Land Use Amending Bylaw 12.24 Open House - Session One
Location: Badlands Community Facility, 80 Veterans Way, Drumheller, AB
At the April 22, 2024 Regular Council Meeting, Council approved the first reading of the Land Use Amending Bylaw 12.24.
Bylaw 12.24 is an amending Bylaw that is intended to make changes to our current Land Use Bylaw. A Land Use Bylaw is required for every municipality in Alberta as per the requirements in the Municipal Government Act and divides the community into Land Use Districts (or zones) and regulates the development that can take place within each District.
The public is invited to attend two Open House opportunities at the Badlands Community Facility on May 7, 2024, from 12:00pm – 2:00pm, and from 4:00pm – 6:00pm.
During this time, any feedback and commentary will be collected by staff. A Public Hearing will be held at the Regular Council Meeting on May 21, 2024, at 5:30pm.

Public Hearing - Proposed Land Use Amending Bylaw 12.24

This is a review of Land Use Amending Bylaw 12.24. The proposed changes are intended to improve the ability of both residents and the development authority to effectively use the document.
A copy of the Proposed Bylaw 12.24 - Land Use Amending Bylaw is available for inspection at the Town of Drumheller office located at 224 Centre Street, Drumheller, Alberta T0J 0Y4 or online at: https://www.drumheller.ca/your-municipality/bylaws.
Persons wishing to submit questions concerning this matter in advance of the Public Hearing may do so by sending a letter to:

Canada Day in the Valley
Location: Rotary Park, 60 Riverside Dr W, Drumheller, AB
On July 1, the Drumheller Valley comes to life as residents and visitors gather to celebrate Canada Day. This year's celebration features live music, roving entertainment, fun for all ages and a fireworks show to end the night!
Food and activities, family fun and entertainment will be available in Drumheller on July 1st!

Teddy Bear Picnic
Location: Downtown Plaza, 340 1 Street West, Drumheller, AB
Join us at the Downtown Plaza for a Teddy Bear Picnic!
The Teddy Bear Picnic is coming back in 2024! Join us at the Plaza on July 10, 2024, from 10:00am until 12:00pm to celebrate the day that all teddy bears gather! Bring your teddy bear to join in games, crafts, snacks and more.
Reminder: This event will be held outside, so please dress for the weather and bring snacks and drinks to stay hydrated!

Kick it to the Curb
Residents of Drumheller can reduce, reuse and recycle belongings by placing them on their front boulevard or curb Friday, September 6 until Sunday, September 8 with a "FREE" label on it.
Kick it to the Curb is a community-wide opportunity for residents to say goodbye to unwanted, gently used household items, such as kitchenware, sporting equipment, unwanted gifts, electronics and furniture.

8:00am - 8:00pm each day.
HOW:
Participants bring their unwanted belongings to the boulevard or curb in front of their home, with a "FREE" label on it.
SOME THINGS TO REMEMBER:
- Participants should only take items labelled as "FREE".
- Respect others' property.
- Discarding other items on another person's property is prohibited.
- Curbside items must be removed at the end of the program to avoid fines.
- Residents are encouraged to follow the Information for Shoppers of Second-hand Products guideline before participating in "Kick it to the Curb".
Remaining items left over from this program must be removed from the curbside or boulevard no later than Sunday, September 8th at 11:59pm.
Residents are encouraged to donate any leftover items that are in good condition to our local donation services.
Additionally, remaining items can be disposed of in the Community Clean Up program, scheduled for September 9th-19th, 2024.
